The Feagin Mill Middle School Band program serves multiple purposes, primarily focused on providing students with comprehensive musical education and development. This includes teaching them to play instruments, fostering a love for music, and enabling them to perform challenging pieces at a high level. Beyond just musical skills, the program also aims for holistic student growth, helping young musicians develop essential life skills like teamwork, discipline, problem-solving, and a strong work ethic. Finally, it provides valuable performance opportunities, allowing students to showcase their talents, build confidence, and prepare for continued musical pursuits in high school and beyond, while also contributing to the school and wider community.

Under the direction of Mr. English, the Feagin Mill Middle School (FMMS) Bands program is a thriving hub of musical excellence and student development. We are incredibly proud of our students' consistent achievements and the vibrant musical community we've built.
Our commitment to high-quality music education is evident in our students' regular participation in prestigious honor bands. Year after year, FMMS Symphonic Band members are selected for the highly competitive All-State Honor Band, District Honor Band, and Region Honor Band, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication. Our program's consistent pursuit of excellence has also been recognized with the esteemed GMEA Exemplary Award, a testament to our high standards and successful musical instruction. A significant highlight in our history was the honor of performing at the 2025 Music For All Southeastern Regional Conference, an experience that provided invaluable exposure and growth for our students.
The FMMS Band program boasts a robust and growing membership, nurturing musicians at every stage of their journey. Our Beginning Band welcomes approximately 120 enthusiastic new musicians each year, laying a strong foundation for their musical future. As students progress, they move into our Concert Band, and our advanced Symphonic Band. Beyond the concert stage, our Pep Band brings spirit and excitement to school events and football games, uniting our musical passion with school pride.
Through these diverse ensembles and a steadfast commitment to musical and personal growth, the Feagin Mill Middle School Bands continue to empower students to achieve their full potential, both as musicians and as individuals.
